The first large retrospective of the work of James Coleman (Ireland, 1941), this exhibition will consist of a range of major works by the artist from his period working in Milan in the 1970s up until the present, including Charon (MIT Project), I N I T I A L S, Box (ahhareturnabout), Clara and Dario, Untitled: Philippe VACHER, and Retake with Evidence, which was first presented in Documenta 12. A series of previously unseen films works from early 1970s will be presented for the first time. Through the use of audiovisual images from different media, Coleman has transformed the temporal relationships between image and subject in contemporary visual art.
